Principal Pipeline Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all pipeline engineering activities and deliverables across project design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance phases.
• Provide subject matter expertise in subsea pipeline engineering, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Deliver and review key engineering outputs, including design calculations, technical reports, specifications, procedures, analyses, and bid evaluations.
• Perform detailed pipeline design and analysis, including wall thickness selection, line sizing, integrity assessments, thermo-mechanical analysis, route optimization, crossings, and installation engineering.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and ensure successful project execution within approved cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Support procurement, contractor selection, and vendor management activities, including preparation of specifications and technical evaluations.
• Provide technical support during pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, flooding, pigging, gauging, and risk mitigation activities.
• Participate in project assurance and safety reviews, including HAZID, HAZOP, and the implementation of inherently safe designs that promote a zero-incident culture.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop pipeline engineers and junior staff while ensuring quality assurance of FEED and detailed design deliverables.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, resolve technical challenges, drive continuous improvement, and identify opportunities for technology adoption and operational optimization.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• NSE and COREN membership.
• Experience with offshore platforms, FPSOs, or onshore terminals is desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience within the oil and gas industry.

• Knowledge of HSSE framework and International engineering standards, best practices, and systems.
• A good understanding of practices, standards and technologies relating to Oil and Gas facilities.
