Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise and manage daily operations of the poultry farm.
- Supervise farm staff, including feeders, caretakers and assistants, ensuring high productivity and adherence to company policies.
- Monitor the health, growth, and welfare of poultry, ensuring proper feeding, vaccination, and care routines.
- Implement biosecurity measures to prevent diseases and maintain flock health.
- Manage inventory of feed, vaccines, and equipment, and coordinate procurement as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of production, mortality, feeding and vaccination schedules.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise production efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Coordinate with suppliers, veterinarians, and other stakeholders for smooth farm operations.
- Report regularly to management on farm performance, challenges, and recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in animal science, veterinary science, agriculture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in poultry management, livestock farming, or agricultural operations.
- Strong knowledge of poultry breeds, feeding regimes, disease management, and biosecurity practices.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Good record-keeping, organisational, and planning abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and solve operational problems effectively.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in poultry farming.
- Physical stamina to oversee farm operations, including early mornings and long hours.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
