Poultry Farm Attendant
Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Poultry Farm Attendant to independently manage the daily care of 850–1,500 broiler chickens from chick placement to harvest. The role involves feeding, watering, health monitoring, record keeping, litter management, and maintaining high biosecurity and animal welfare standards.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare poultry pens and brooding areas before chick arrival.
- Feed birds according to the farm's feeding programme.
- Ensure birds have continuous access to clean water.
- Monitor bird health and report any signs of illness or unusual behaviour.
- Record daily mortality, feed usage, and other farm records accurately.
- Maintain clean, dry litter and good pen hygiene.
- Monitor temperature, ventilation, and overall flock comfort.
- Assist with bird weighing, stock counts, and routine farm inspections.
- Support harvest activities and post-harvest pen cleanout.
- Follow all farm biosecurity and operational procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of practical poultry farming experience.
- Previous experience caring for broiler chickens is strongly preferred.
- Ability to maintain basic written records and reports.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Physically fit and able to perform farm duties daily.
- Must provide at least one verifiable employment reference.
