Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- The candidate will be responsible for the care, feeding, and general welfare of birds to ensure optimal health and productivity
- Feeding and watering birds according to schedule
- Collecting and sorting eggs
- Monitoring flock health and behavior, and promptly reporting signs of illness or abnormality
- The Poultry Attendant will maintain the cleanliness of poultry houses by cleaning, washing, and disinfecting pens, feeders, drinkers, and equipment
- Assisting with vaccinations, administering medications under supervision, monitoring feed inventory, recording daily production and mortality data, and strictly following farm biosecurity and safety procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of SSCE/High School Certificate
- Previous poultry or livestock experience is an advantage
- Physically fit and able to work long hours when required
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain hygiene standards
- Basic record-keeping skills
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays when necessary
