Petroleum Engineering Graduate Trainee
Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and enthusiastic Graduate Trainee – Petroleum Engineering to join our technical team. This role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to build a successful career in the oil and gas industry by gaining hands-on experience in petroleum engineering.

Responsibilities:
- Assist senior engineers in planning, monitoring, and executing petroleum engineering projects.
- Support drilling, production, reservoir, and well operations under supervision.
- Participate in field inspections, site visits, and operational assessments.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret engineering and production data.
- Assist in monitoring oil and gas production performance and identifying optimization opportunities.
- Support well testing, completion, intervention, and production enhancement activities.
- Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and operational records.
- Assist in the evaluation of drilling and production equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Participate in engineering meetings, technical reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with geologists, drilling engineers, production engineers, and other technical teams.
- Participate in structured training, mentorship programs, and professional development activities.
- Perform other engineering-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Eng. or B.Sc.) in Petroleum Engineering
- Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or possession of a valid exemption certificate.
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience (industrial training or internship experience is an added advantage).
- Basic understanding of drilling operations, reservoir engineering, production engineering, and petroleum production systems.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and report-writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic knowledge of petroleum engineering software such as Petrel, Eclipse, CMG, OFM, Prosper, GAP, or similar applications is an added advantage.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in multidisciplinary teams.
