Our client is seeking an experienced people & culture business partner to partner with leadership in building the people, culture, and organisational capabilities required to support business performance. The role will lead workforce planning, talent, performance, employee relations, engagement and people operations while strengthening accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership and line managers to understand business priorities and translate them into practical people and organisational solutions.
  • Support workforce planning, manpower forecasting, role design, and organisational structure reviews.
  • Lead recruitment and selection processes across the business, ensuring strong alignment between talent requirements and operational needs.
  • Strengthen onboarding and integration processes to improve employee experience and speed to productivity.
  • Own and coordinate the organisation's performance management cycle, ensuring clear objectives, regular feedback, and accountability.
  • Coach managers on managing performance, difficult conversations, employee development, and team effectiveness.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary cases, attendance concerns, and performance improvement processes.
  • Identify capability gaps and coordinate learning, development, and succession interventions.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, communication, collaboration, and organizational culture.
  • Monitor employee experience across the employment lifecycle and identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Support leadership in embedding organizational values, expected behaviors, and performance standards.
  • Manage employee lifecycle processes including confirmation, promotion, transfer, leave, benefits, exit and offboarding.
  • Ensure employment documentation, employee records and HR processes remain accurate and compliant.
  • Ensure people's practices comply with applicable Nigerian employment and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and track relevant people metrics, identifying trends and providing management with actionable workforce insights.
  • Support organizational change and improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Identify recurring people, leadership, or structural issues affecting business effectiveness and recommend appropriate interventions.
  • Promote a workplace culture built around accountability, professionalism, performance, and respect.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive people/HR experience, with meaningful HR generalist or business partnering responsibility.
  • Professional qualifications such as CIPM, CIPD, HRCI, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in performance management, employee relations, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian employment practices and statutory requirements.
  • Ability to coach, challenge, and influence managers on people-related decisions.
  • Strong business judgement with the ability to connect people issues to operational and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder-management capability.
  • Comfortable combining strategic business partnering with hands-on execution.
  • Experience within logistics, supply chain, engineering, oil & gas, or another operational environment would be an advantage.
