Painter

Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers where necessary.
• Mix and match paints, colours, and finishes according to project requirements.
• Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Paint walls, ceilings, doors, windows, furniture, and other surfaces as required.
• Ensure clean, smooth, and even finishes with minimal wastage.
• Protect furniture, floors, fixtures, and other areas from paint spills and damage.
• Inspect completed work and carry out touch-ups or corrections where necessary.
• Maintain and properly clean painting tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling paints, solvents, ladders, and equipment.
• Estimate the quantity of materials required for assigned jobs and report material shortages.
• Work effectively with other tradespeople and site personnel.
• Complete assigned projects within agreed timelines.
• Perform other painting-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Painter
• Good knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation.
• Ability to work with brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other painting equipment.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to accurately mix colours and achieve consistent finishes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work for extended periods, including standing, bending, climbing ladders, and working at heights.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
