Job summary
The Packaging Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing the packaging of products to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with company and industry standards. This role ensures that all goods are packaged efficiently, labeled correctly, and ready for distribution or shipment.

- Inspect and prepare products for packaging according to company standards.
- Ensure packaging materials are used efficiently and in line with cost targets.
- Label and code products accurately for identification, tracking, and compliance.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to meet packaging schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging area.
- Monitor inventory of packaging materials and request replenishments as needed.
- Identify and report any defects, damages, or quality issues in packaging.
- Implement and follow safety and hygiene standards in packaging operations.
- Keep accurate records of packaged products, batches, and materials used.
- Suggest improvements to packaging processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Diploma, OND, or equivalent in Packaging Technology, Production, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in packaging, production, or quality control.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, methods, and machinery.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safety and hygiene practices in packaging operations.
