Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions and visual disorders within scope of practice.
- Prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses where necessary.
- Perform visual acuity tests and other relevant diagnostic procedures.
- Identify eye conditions requiring specialist referral.
- Provide counselling on eye health, hygiene, and preventive care.
- Monitor patients' eye health and treatment progress.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of optometric equipment.
- Promote eye health awareness and participate in vision screening programmes.
- Adhere to professional standards, clinical protocols and organisational policies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a BSc qualification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
