Operations Manager
Job summary
We are seeking a commercially and technically driven Operations Manager to lead our engineering and field servicing projects in Nigeria. Based in Port Harcourt, you will direct day-to-day technical operations and manage multidisciplinary field teams across regional sites. Your goal is to ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget project execution.

Responsibilities:
Project & Field Operations:
- Direct multidisciplinary teams in executing complex EPIC projects.
- Coordinate field servicing across all active operating sites.
- Optimize client support by collaborating across internal departments.
Asset Integrity & Maintenance:
- Oversee predictive maintenance programs and equipment overhauls.
- Standardize inspection procedures for all active machinery.
- Document site conditions through regular asset audits.
- Organize cost-effective repairs using internal teams and contractors.
HSE, Quality & Compliance:
- Drive safety culture to achieve "Zero Harm" targets.
- Maintain risk registers to proactively mitigate site hazards.
- Enforce compliance with ISO, API, and ASME frameworks.
- Align all operations with NUPRC, NMDPRA, and federal regulatory standards.
Nigerian Content & Community Relations:
- Enforce NOGICD Act guidelines across all project life cycles.
- Maximize local capacity utilization in hiring and procurement.
- Manage host community relations to ensure smooth, uninterrupted field operations in the Niger Delta.
- Report local content performance metrics to regulatory authorities.
Financial & Resource Management:
- Manage annual budgets covering both CAPEX and OPEX.
- Track operational KPIs to improve equipment efficiency.
- Reduce operating costs through continuous process optimization.
Vendor & Client Relations:
- Act as liaison for IOCs, independents, and subcontractors.
- Align service delivery directly with strict client specifications.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Lead field teams through clear performance management.
- Execute people processes, including induction and performance reviews.
- Develop training programs for internal teams and third-party vendors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- A master’s degree or an MBA is preferred.
- 5–12 years in oil and gas servicing.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior supervisory role.
- Credentials: Active COREN registration is highly preferred.
- Memberships: NSE, SPE, or PMP certifications are advantageous.
- Software: Proficiency in CMMS and project management tools.
- Expertise: Deep understanding of process automation and Niger Delta terrain dynamics.
- Core Skills: Excellence in negotiation, crisis management, and communication.
