Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Own inventory accuracy across all locations, including scheduled and unannounced stock counts, stock rotation, and the investigation and resolution of variances rather than their adjustment.
- Oversee store and warehouse operations, including container and supplier receiving, goods received note discipline, and matching goods received against purchase orders and invoices.
- Ensure all stock is correctly and promptly captured on the inventory and point of sale systems, and that the system remains the authoritative record of stock at every location.
- Build and enforce dispatch and order verification so that goods loaded and delivered correspond exactly to the customer order, and own the resolution and root cause review of any error.
- Own the order-to-fulfilment process: once a sale is made and payment confirmed, drive receipt issuance, fulfilment, delivery and customer update to completion, and hold the sales team accountable for feeding accurate information into that process.
- Plan and coordinate deliveries, drivers, vehicles and third-party logistics partners, and confirm customer receipt is complete and on time.
- Reconcile stock movement against sales and finance records, and work with the Accountant so that inventory, sales and financial figures agree.
- Lead and hold to standard the storekeeping, inventory, dispatch and client relations staff, reviewing their work against evidence and holding them to deadlines.
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly operations reports supported by verifiable records.
- Manage operational expenses, identify and close leakages, and drive measurable cost control.
- Maintain one consistent operating standard across every location.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in operations management. Applications below this threshold will not be considered.
- Minimum of an HND in a relevant discipline. A master's degree or a recognised professional qualification in supply chain, logistics or management is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple locations simultaneously. Please state clearly in your application how many sites, how many staff, and the stock value you have been responsible for.
- Proven inventory and stock control discipline, including stock counts, variance investigation, stock rotation and reconciliation.
- Practical, hands-on competence with inventory, POS or ERP systems. Please name the systems you have personally used.
- Experience in retail, distribution, trading or a product-based business. Building materials, electrical or construction supply experience is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to reconcile stock, sales and finance figures, and to explain a variance with evidence.
- Genuine ownership and accountability: the ability to close a problem rather than escalate it, and to flag blockers early rather than after the fact.
- Strong leadership presence, with the confidence and professional bearing to represent the company to clients, suppliers and contractors, and the firmness to hold a team to standard.
- Clear, concise communication, both written and spoken, particularly in reporting to management.
- Based in Lagos, and able to work across the company's locations.
- A verifiable guarantor.
Remuneration: NGN 600,000 net monthly.
Location: Gbagada, Lagos
