Operations & Funding Development Coordinator

Responsibilities:

• Research and qualify grant opportunities across approved platforms (Candid, GrantWatch, FundsforNGOs, Instrumentl), verifying every finding against original funder sources rather than relying on AI summaries alone
• Score and classify opportunities and maintain a live pipeline tracker with complete sources, status, and next actions
• Prepare and submit grant applications using verified organizational data, running full validation before anything goes out
• Manage funder relationships and follow-up communications, logging every touch the same day
• Support the Family Memorial Assistance outreach cadence and track family applications
• Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reports with truthful, accurate numbers
• Escalate blockers, risks, or scope questions promptly

Requirements:

• Strong research and fact-verification skills — you check primary sources, not just AI output
• Excellent, persuasive written communication (grant narratives, funder correspondence)
• Comfort with Notion, Asana, and Google Workspace-style tools; CRM/pipeline-tracking experience a plus
• Close attention to detail and integrity — this role never estimates numbers or stretches facts to fit a grant
• Ability to work independently on West Africa Time hours in a remote, US-based nonprofit environment
• Prior grant writing, nonprofit development, or funding research experience preferred but not required for the right candidate
