Success Metric: The business runs smoothly even when the Principal is unavailable.
THE OPENING:
You are the kind of person who cannot rest if something is incomplete. You notice when a deadline is slipping before anyone else does. You have followed up on things without being asked, caught problems before they became emergencies, and built systems that made the person you work with visibly exhale. If that is genuinely how you operate, this role was written for you.
ABOUT THE FIRM:
Startup Legal Consulting is a growing boutique law firm in Lagos focused on helping Nigerian entrepreneurs and startup founders build legally protected businesses. We are structured, fast-moving, and client-obsessed. The Principal is a practicing lawyer, firm founder, and brand builder, and she needs a sharp, reliable right hand who can run the operational side of the business so she can stay in her zone of genius.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN:
• Calendar + email management and daily admin
• Team task tracking in Asana, keeping everyone on deadline, every week
• Client follow-up communications, nothing falls through the cracks
• Building and maintaining systems that keep operations running without the Principal present
• Invoicing, payments & basic finance admin
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON IF:
• You have at least 2 years of VA, EA, or operations support experience
• You have directly supported a founder, CEO, or senior leader before
• You are comfortable owning Asana and Google Workspace as your primary operational tools
• You are the person who follows up without being told to
• You want to own the operations of a growing firm, not just assist.
THIS IS NOT THE ROLE FOR YOU IF:
• You need to be told exactly what to do each day to be productive
• You find following up on people uncomfortable or difficult
