Job summary
Edex is a growing online educational services agency that connects experienced Nigerian teachers with primary school students in the United Kingdom. We are currently seeking passionate and qualified Online primary tutor (Maths & English) to join our team on a flexible, part-time basis. This is an excellent side-gig opportunity for teachers who want to earn competitive income while working from home. As an online primary tutor, you will deliver engaging, one-to-one virtual lessons to children aged 4–11 (Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2). You will help students strengthen their foundations in mathematics and English, improve academic performance, build confidence, and develop a love for learning.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality online lessons using Zoom and interactive tools
- Align lessons with the UK National Curriculum for primary Maths and English
- Support students with phonics, numeracy, reading, writing, comprehension, and exam preparation (SATs & 11+)
- Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents
- Maintain a professional, patient, and child-friendly teaching approach
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience, with strong preference for primary school level
- A minimum of an NCE or equivalent
- Good command of English and solid subject knowledge in Maths and/or English
- Reliable laptop, stable internet, and power backup (inverter/generator)
- Passion for teaching young children and excellent communication skills
- Previous online teaching experience is an advantage
