The Office Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within Tobiella Eye Centre. This role supports the daily operations of the clinic by ensuring that all areas are properly cleaned, organized, and presentable at all times. The ideal candidate is diligent and detail-oriented.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities :

Cleaning & Sanitation:

  • Clean and disinfect all areas of the clinic, including waiting areas, consultation rooms, restrooms, offices, and corridors.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors regularly to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Dust furniture, equipment, and surfaces to ensure a neat environment.
  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste appropriately and regularly.
  • Ensure proper cleaning of high-touch surfaces (door handles, desks, chairs, equipment).


Infection Control & Hygiene:

  • Follow clinic hygiene and infection control procedures strictly.
  • Use appropriate cleaning agents and disinfectants for different surfaces.
  • Ensure restrooms are cleaned frequently and stocked with soap, tissue, and other supplies.
  • Report any sanitation or safety concerns to management promptly.


Office Support Duties:

  • Assist with basic office errands such as running internal messages or moving files.
  • Support staff with simple non-clinical tasks when required.
  • Help maintain orderliness in workspaces and common areas.


Supplies & Inventory Support:

  • Monitor cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is needed.
  • Properly store cleaning equipment and materials after use.


General Maintenance Support:

  • Report any maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, faulty lights, damaged furniture).
  • Ensure the clinic environment remains presentable for patients and visitors at all times.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of SSCE / WAEC / NECO qualification.
  • Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or office assistance is an advantage, but not mandatory.
