Accountant

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The main role of an accountant is to collect, analyse, record and report the financial data of the school. They ensure that a company complies with all the government rules and regulations. An accountant also helps analyse financial data to make data-driven business decisions

REQUIREMENTS

1.    Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations in a similar role

2.    Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

3.    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

4.    Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

5.    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

6.    Confident in using Information Management Systems and able to learn new systems and processes quickly.

7.    Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.

8.    Ability to understand, interpretand communicate financial data at all levels of an organsation.

9.    Sound knowledge of accounting standards.

10.Excellent attention to detail.

11.Maintain strict confidentiality where appropriate.

12.Strong interpersonal skills with a clear focus on customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, CIMA, ACCA or ACA, CPA) is strongly preferred.

Proven 5-10years experience as an Accountant, preferably in an educational institution.

Proven experience in financial reporting and in the preparation of management accounts, forecasts and statutory accounts.

Remuneration: NGN 250,000 - 350,000
