Job summary
Needed experienced National Cooks to join our catering operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals in a large-scale catering environment, ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards. The role requires experience in feeding large numbers of personnel in camps, industrial facilities, offshore locations, hotels, institutions, or similar high-volume food service operations.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of local and continental dishes in accordance with approved menus and recipes.
- Produce meals for large numbers of personnel while maintaining consistency in quality, taste, and presentation.
- Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, stored, and served in compliance with HACCP and food safety requirements.
- Monitor food portions and control wastage to support cost-effective operations.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food items using FIFO principles.
- Assist in menu planning and provide suggestions for meal improvements and variety.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Support inventory control by reporting stock shortages and assisting with stock counts.
- Work closely with supervisors, chefs, and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Comply with all company HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements and workplace procedures.
- Minimum of Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Professional culinary training or catering certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a cook in a large-scale catering, hospitality, industrial camp, offshore, FPSO, hotel, or institutional catering environment.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian and Continental cuisine.
- Ability to prepare meals for large numbers of people efficiently.
- Knowledge of food hygiene, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and willing to work rotational schedules where required.
- Experience in offshore catering operations, industrial camps, oil & gas facilities, or large workforce feeding operations.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety management systems.
