We are seeking a skilled, analytical, and detail-oriented Microbiologist to conduct laboratory testing, microbial analysis, quality control, and environmental or product assessments. The ideal candidate should have strong laboratory skills and a thorough understanding of microbiological principles

Responsibilities:
- Conduct microbiological testing and analysis of samples using appropriate laboratory procedures.
- Collect, prepare, culture, and examine biological and environmental samples.
- Perform microbial identification, enumeration, and contamination testing.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and testing conditions.
- Ensure laboratory procedures are conducted in accordance with approved standards and protocols.
- Document test results, observations, and laboratory activities accurately.
- Investigate contamination, microbial growth, and quality-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support quality control and quality assurance activities within the organization.
- Maintain proper laboratory hygiene, sterilization, and biosafety procedures.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate laboratory findings to management and relevant departments.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory samples and biological materials.
- Participate in environmental monitoring, water quality testing, food safety testing, or other microbiological assessments where applicable.
- Stay updated on relevant laboratory standards, regulatory requirements, and microbiological practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an HND in Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2–4 years' relevant experience in microbiology, laboratory testing, quality control, food production, pharmaceuticals, environmental services, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of microbiological testing methods, laboratory procedures, and contamination control.
- Practical experience with laboratory equipment and microbiological techniques.
- Good understanding of laboratory safety and quality management procedures.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and laboratory documentation systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Professional certification or relevant industry experience is an added advantage.
