Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Officer role based in Ilesa, Osun State. The Medical Officer will provide comprehensive clinical care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for primary and secondary healthcare conditions. Daily responsibilities include taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting investigations, and prescribing appropriate therapies. The role may involve participation in minor surgical procedures, emergency care, and coordination of patient referrals when specialized services are needed. The Medical Officer will collaborate closely with other physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, contribute to patient education and counseling, and ensure accurate, timely documentation of all clinical encounters. The role also includes adherence to clinical protocols, participation in clinical meetings, and involvement in quality improvement and training activities as required.
Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Medicine with proven clinical diagnostic and therapeutic skills in primary and secondary care settings.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality Patient Care, including clear communication, empathy, and safe clinical decision-making.
  • Experience in minor Surgery or procedural skills relevant to a general medical center, with a focus on safe and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to work effectively with Physicians and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience or interest in Training of junior staff, interns, or students, including case discussions and clinical teaching.
  • Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and full registration/licensure with the appropriate medical council.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and, preferably, Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Strong organizational skills, accurate medical record-keeping, and familiarity with standard clinical documentation practices.
  • Willingness to participate in shifts, on-call duties, and emergency coverage as needed.
  • High ethical standards, respect for patient confidentiality, and commitment to continuous professional development.
