Medical Device Sales Specialist

Our client, a major player in the medical equipment and services industry in Lagos, is looking for an experienced Service Sales Manager who will be responsible for driving revenue, retention, and profitability of Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for medical equipment across hospitals, diagnostic centers, and labs. You own the full AMC lifecycle from lead generation and contract negotiation to renewal, invoicing, and client satisfaction. You are the commercial link between our service operations and the customer.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Revenue Growth
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual AMC sales and renewal targets
• Identify and develop new AMC opportunities from existing equipment install base and new clients
• Upsell/cross-sell from basic AMC to comprehensive AMC and multi-year contracts
• Work with equipment sales team to improve AMC attach rate at point of sale
• Prepare and present commercial proposals, negotiate terms, and close contracts
2. Account Management & Retention
• Manage a portfolio of AMC clients to ensure ≥90% renewal rate
• Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts: HODs, bio-medicals, procurement, C-suite
• Act as escalation point for service-related issues impacting contract performance
• Develop client-specific AMC strategies to reduce churn and improve satisfaction
3. Contract & Financial Management
• Structure AMC pricing models factoring in equipment type, age, risk, spares, and labor
• Ensure timely invoicing of AMCs and follow up with clients for payment collection
• Monitor contract profitability, DSO, and cost-to-serve; flag unprofitable contracts
Maintain accurate contract database: start/end dates, scope, SLA, payment terms
Reporting & Strategy
• Submit weekly AMC pipeline, renewal forecast, and revenue reports to management
• Analyze market trends, competitor AMC offerings, and client feedback to refine strategy
• Collaborate with Marketing and Service teams on AMC campaigns and promotions
• Train and mentor junior sales/service staff on AMC selling
Qualifications and Experience:
• BSc/HND in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Business, or related field
• 5 years’ minimum experience in medical equipment sales/service with at least 2 years focused on AMC/service contracts
• Proven track record of meeting revenue and renewal targets
• 5+ years with team leadership and P&L responsibility
• Proficiency in CRM tools, Excel, and reporting dashboards.
