Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and ensure prompt repairs of processing machines.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and monitor their performance.
- Minimize machine downtime through effective troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Oversee the maintenance of cashew processing equipment, including shelling machines, kernel dryers, peeling machines, conveyors, and packaging equipment, where applicable.
- Maintain equipment records, maintenance schedules, and spare-parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth factory operations.
Requirements:
- HND in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing, food-processing, or cashew-processing factory.
- Practical knowledge of industrial machinery, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, conveyors, and processing equipment.
- Experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
