Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Design, review, and coordinate mechanical systems for building projects.
- Review mechanical drawings, schematics, equipment schedules, specifications, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
- Supervise and inspect mechanical installations on construction sites, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, codes, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate mechanical works with architectural, structural, electrical, and other building services requirements.
- Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure mechanical works meet required quality, programme, and technical standards.
- Monitor the installation of HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, pumps, water systems, fire protection, and other mechanical building services.
- Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and resolution of mechanical issues throughout projects.
- Provide technical input into mechanical equipment and material selection, procurement, cost estimates, variations, and bills of quantities.
- Review equipment and system performance to ensure installations meet specified design and operational requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Mechanical engineering, preferably within construction, real estate development, or building services.
- Knowledge of relevant Nigerian building, engineering, health, and safety standards.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical installations.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or relevant engineering or facilities management software is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
