Marketing and Communications Lead
Job summary
This is more than just a social media coordinator role. You will be responsible for planning, creating, and executing all marketing, communications, and social media activities for Sweatbox Lagos — digital, email, app notifications, and traditional marketing/PR initiatives. You’ll work directly with the CEO to shape the brand’s public image and ensure our marketing ecosystem (website, social platforms, app, email) is cohesive, timely, and impactful.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a consistent content calendar across Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Create eye-catching designs, graphics, and short videos (using Canva and other tools).
- Draft engaging captions and copy aligned with Sweatbox’s tone and goals.
- Schedule and post content regularly, monitor engagement, and respond to community inquiries and Email & App Communications.
- Create and send weekly newsletters to members with updates, events, and promotions.
- Manage push notifications via the Sweatbox app.
- Build and maintain email lists segmented by audience type.
- Build & coordinate website updates and new page builds to ensure the site reflects current programs, events, and brand identity.
- Ensure brand consistency across all digital and print materials. Traditional Marketing & Partnerships.
- Actively pursue partnerships with radio, TV, print, and online publications for features and collaborations.
- Create and manage posters, flyers, and in-gym signage for upcoming programs.
- Track marketing spend, campaigns, and ROI. Campaign Planning.
- Work with the CEO to map out monthly and quarterly marketing goals.
- Propose and execute creative activations that drive new memberships and event attendance.
- Provide weekly reports on marketing activities, reach, and engagement metrics.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing social media accounts for a brand or organization.
- Advanced Canva skills (graphics, posters, carousels, short videos).
- Strong copywriting skills with an eye for storytelling and community engagement.
- Basic knowledge of email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar).
- Understanding of app push notifications, basic website updates, and marketing analytics.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and proactively propose ideas.
- Familiarity with Lagos market and local media landscape is a plus. Desired Attributes

- Hybrid role: 2–3 in-gym days per week; remaining days remote.
- Probation salary: ₦150,000/month.
