Job Summary

The Market Strategist is not just a planner; you are the connective thinker who ensures that insight, performance, and execution move in rhythm across all teams. You’ll build the frameworks that help the company understand its markets, measure its impact, and make smarter, data-informed decisions as we expand our ecosystem. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the Strategy and Marketing teams, guiding how we track growth, understand audiences, and evolve our offerings. You’ll turn research into insight, and insight into action, ensuring that every brand moment, business initiative, and space launch ladder up to the company's long-term vision. You’ll play a key role in shaping how the company defines success, how we measure it, and how every team contributes to it. You’ll help build the systems that align effort to outcome, using data, intuition, and creativity to drive company-wide growth. We’re looking for strategic storytellers who can connect the dots between purpose and performance; thinkers who care about meaning as much as metrics.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute market strategy - translating insights, performance data, and market trends into actionable growth plans.
  • Build and manage a company-wide performance tracking framework, ensuring Brand and Market alignment across all teams (Marketing, Product, People, Spaces, and Finance).
  • Partner with team leads to define key metrics, performance dashboards, and success measures that guide decision-making and accountability.
  • Conduct ongoing market, audience, and competitor research to uncover opportunities for expansion, new verticals, and deeper community engagement.
  • Support the Strategy and Expansion team in assessing new market opportunities, space rollouts, and regional growth feasibility.
  • Lead Marketing to align campaigns with market insights, optimising channel strategy, reach, and conversion performance.
  • Drive periodic performance reviews and strategic retrospectives, consolidating insights that inform leadership and shape the company's direction.
  • Translate data into compelling stories and recommendations that fuel both strategic planning and creative decision-making.
  • Support cross-team collaboration by connecting business outcomes to team-level priorities, ensuring visibility and shared ownership of results.
  • Track and forecast growth trends across markets, audience segments, and channels, using both quantitative and qualitative inputs.


Requirements:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in market strategy, growth, or business analysis, ideally within a startup, creative, or consumer-facing brand.
  • Fluent in data storytelling, turning metrics into meaning and meaning into movement.
  • Understand how markets shift and how brands grow, blending insight with empathy.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally, collaborating with Strategy, Product, Operations, and Finance teams to keep everyone aligned around measurable goals.
  • Hands-on with tools;  whether it’s Excel, Notion, or data visualisation platforms, and you use them to make insight accessible, not intimidating.
  • Deeply curious about how people behave, what drives engagement, and how to translate those patterns into sustainable business growth.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-accountability startup environment.


Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Remuneration: NGN 600,000
