Job summary

We are seeking a suitably qualified Marine Superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operation of our vessels.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure vessels comply with ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, ISO, and local port authority requirements.
  •  Monitor day-to-day performance, navigation standards, cargo operations, crewing, and technical condition. Ensure vessel is properly manned, maintained, and equipped.
  • Collaborate with the Master and Chief Officer to address operational or crew issues.
  • Explore growth avenues by networking with port authorities and stakeholders.
  • Oversee internal/external audits, inspections (PSC, Flag, Class, SIRE, etc.), and corrective actions. Plan and conduct regular ship visits, and prepare vessel for vetting, dry-docking, and surveys.
  • Support emergency preparedness, including ship-shore drills.
  • Assist Commercial and BD teams in contract renewals and new project bids.
  • Investigate accidents/incidents, root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures. Participate in Emergency Response Teams.
  • Oversee planned maintenance, dry-docking, repairs, and cost control. Monitor vessel operating costs to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Liaise with class societies, oil majors, ship owners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure certification compliance.
  • Monitor HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) performance, drug/alcohol testing, and quality standards.
  • Support vetting processes, risk assessments, and continuous improvement of marine operations.
  • Foster strong communication between ship crew and shore-based management.
  • Review safety meeting minutes, vetting reports, and ensure effective follow-up.


Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience
  • A minimum of a degree in a related field
