We are looking to hire a Loan Relationship & Recovery Officer

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage timely loan repayments.
  • Manage due, overdue, and defaulted loan accounts to ensure effective recovery.
  • Contact customers via calls, SMS, email, and approved digital channels for repayment follow-ups and support.
  • Negotiate repayment plans, settlements, and flexible solutions that balance recovery with customer retention.
  • Monitor assigned loan portfolios and track relationship and recovery performance.
  • Identify early signs of delinquency and apply proactive engagement strategies.
  • Conduct skip tracing and follow up on unreachable customers when required.
  • Update customer records, repayment status, and recovery actions accurately on the loan management system.
  • Escalate high-risk or severely delinquent accounts for legal or advanced recovery action.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly relationship and recovery performance reports.
  • Work closely with credit, risk, and operations teams to improve customer satisfaction and reduce loan defaults.


Requirements:

  • Good understanding of loan recovery, customer relationship management, and credit processes.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet recovery and retention targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan management systems.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Must own a smartphone (Android or iPhone).


Benefits:

  • Basic Salary: NGN 75,000 (subject to review based on experience)
  • Bonuses: Daily and weekly performance-based bonuses (up to NGN 20,000)

  • Salary Review: Eligible for salary review after 3 months and again after 6 months
  • Year-End Bonus: Annual performance bonus for outstanding performance
