Job Summary
The Loading Bay Supervisor (agro-allied industry/rubber plantation) will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to the receiving of raw rubber harvest - cup lumps and/or the dispatch of rubber. This role ensures that the loading and unloading processes are executed safely, efficiently, and accurately.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Operations & Logistics Management:
- Coordinate Traffic: Manage the flow of trucks and tractors entering and exiting the bay
- Schedule Loading/Unloading: Prioritize loading based on production and transporter availability.
- Equipment Oversight: Ensure weighing scales are operational and safety-checked daily.
- Waiting Time: Monitor and minimize the waiting time for external trucks and internal harvest tractors to ensure efficiency.
Quality Control & Inspection (Crucial):
- Contamination Checks: Visually inspect incoming raw rubber to ensure no contaminants that can ruin rubber quality.
- Weight Verification: Supervise the weighing scale operations to ensure the precise weight of incoming harvest and outgoing produce is recorded.
Inventory & Documentation:
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily logs of all incoming and outgoing stock (tonnage, vehicle number, driver name).
- Waybills & Delivery Notes: Verify that all freight documents match the physical vehicle loaded for incoming harvest and outgoing produce sales.
- System Entry: Input data into the plantation’s inventory management system.
- Stock Reconciliation: Assist the inventory team with weekly or monthly stock counts.
Health, Safety, & Team Leadership:
- Team Management: Supervise, educate, and roster the loading crew.
- Safety Protocol: Enforce strict rules to prevent accidents in the loading zone.
- Housekeeping: Ensure the loading bay is kept clean and free of stagnant water (to prevent mosquito breeding and slips) and rubber debris.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an OND/HND/B.Sc.in Logistics, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within logistics, warehousing, or a manufacturing plant.
- Specific experience in Agro-allied industries or rubber plantations is highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing manual laborers and equipment operators.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel for reporting).
- Ability to operate or supervise the operation of the Weighbridge scale.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot contamination in rubber and errors in paperwork immediately.
- Integrity: Unwavering honesty regarding weight recording and inventory stock (prevention of pilferage).
- Communication: Ability to give clear commands to the loading team and communicate effectively with truck drivers and management.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work on the feet for long periods and withstand the plantation environment.
- Environment: Ability to adapt to a semi-outdoor industrial environment; exposure to the specific odor of raw rubber.
- Hours: Must be willing to work weekends or extended hours during peak harvest seasons.
