Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing mechanical faults, replacing worn or damaged components, conducting inspections, and ensuring vehicles meet operational and safety standards.
- The mechanic will carry out preventive maintenance according to schedules, maintain service records, and collaborate with heavy-duty mechanics, auto electricians, and maintenance engineers as needed.
- All work must comply with company safety standards, operational procedures, and quality expectations.
Requirements
- Must possess a technical certificate, trade test qualification, OND, or its equivalent in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience servicing and repairing light-duty vehicles such as cars, pickups, vans, and small trucks is required.
- Should have practical knowledge of engines, suspension systems, brakes, cooling systems, and minor electrical components.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards is essential.
- The ability to work independently, read technical manuals, and accurately document maintenance activities is required.
- Strong knowledge of light-duty vehicle mechanics
- Proficiency in engine, suspension, braking, and cooling system
- Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance
- Strong fault diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of vehicle inspections and roadworthiness standards
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship
