Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Provide internal advisory services to all business units and departments on a wide range of legal issues, including contracts, intellectual property, and regulatory matters;
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a variety of commercial and financial agreements, ensuring they comply with all statutory or legal requirements;
- Oversee and manage legal disputes and litigation matters, coordinating with external legal counsel when necessary, and representing the organization in court or alternative dispute resolution proceedings;
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, monitor legislative changes, and advise management on potential legal risks and implications;
- Assist in the development, review, and updating of internal policies and procedures, ensuring they are up to date with the latest legal and human resource requirements;
- Conduct legal research and analysis to provide informed recommendations and maintain accurate legal documentation and corporate records.
- Assisting management in forecasting future staffing needs and developing strategies to meet them;
- Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, checking references, and managing job offers;
- Coordinating new employee orientation and induction programs to ensure a smooth integration into the company culture and systems;
- Assisting with payroll processing and ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, bonuses, and expenses;
- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records, files, and HR databases (HRIS);
- Developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures that align with company goals and current employment legislation;
- Ensuring the organization complies with all relevant national and local labor laws, health and safety regulations, and reporting requirements to mitigate legal risks;
Requirement:
- 4 years of practice experience;
- Minimum academic qualification of a Bachelor of Law degree (Master's degree would be of additional advantage);
- Excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, and presentation skills to interact effectively with all levels of staff;
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to multitask and prioritize a diverse workload;
- Strong interpersonal skill and empathy
- Sound ethical judgement and integrity
- Ability to work effectively with diverse internal departments and external legal counsel
- High negotiation skills that demonstrate ability to effectively broker favorable deals and settlements while protecting company interests
- Understanding the business model to provide practical, solutions-focused legal advice
- Demonstrated ability to mediate and resolve internal disputes efficiently and fairly
- A solid understanding of current labor laws and regulations to ensure the company remains compliant
- Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office programs, HR software (HRIS), and payroll systems.
