Job summary

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Legal Officer to provide legal support across the organisation, with a particular focus on real estate transactions, property documentation, contract review, regulatory compliance, and general corporate legal matters.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support and advice on real estate transactions, property acquisitions, sales, leases, and other property-related matters.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts, agreements, leases, deeds, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal due diligence on properties, including title verification, searches, and review of relevant property documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements relating to real estate operations.
  • Liaise with external solicitors, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other relevant stakeholders on legal matters.
  • Provide general legal and corporate support to various departments as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Legal/Management.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law (LL. B) from a recognised institution.
  • Must be called to the Nigerian Bar and possess a valid practising certificate.
  • 3-7 years of post-call experience, preferably within a real estate, property development, construction, or related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian property and real estate laws, land transactions, tenancy, and contract law.
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing legal agreements and contracts.
  • Good understanding of property documentation, title verification, and perfection of title.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professional discretion.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
