Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to Management and staff on matters affecting the Bank's operations.
- Interpret laws, regulations, policies, and contractual obligations relevant to the Bank.
- Advise on legal implications of business decisions and transactions.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and vet agreements, contracts, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Ensure all contractual documents adequately protect the Bank's interests.
- Maintain a repository of all legal agreements and documentation.
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory guidelines issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria and other relevant authorities.
- Manage litigation matters involving the Bank and coordinate external solicitors where applicable.
- Support the recovery of delinquent loans through demand notices and legal actions.
- Assist in preparing legal documentation for Board and Management meetings.
- Identify and assess legal risks associated with the Bank's operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of BSC.
- 2 years of previous experience in a similar role.
