Job Title – Legal & Compliance Officer

Salary: N300k
Role Summary:
The Legal & Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the organization complies with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. The role provides legal advice, drafts and reviews contracts, manages disputes, and develops policies to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Provide legal advice and support to management and departments.
2.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
3.
Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
4.
Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments.
5.
Investigate and resolve legal and compliance issues.
6.
Ensure timely filing of statutory requirements and licenses.
7.
Train staff on compliance policies and regulatory updates.
8.
Liaise with regulators, external counsel, and government agencies.

Full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Accurate and timely drafting and review of contracts.

Reduced legal disputes and risks.

Well-trained employees with awareness of compliance standards.
Performance Measurement Parameters:
•
Number of compliance breaches or violations.

Qualifications & Skills:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); professional certification and call to bar required.
•
2–5 years’ experience in legal practice or corporate legal/compliance role.
