Legal Associate

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, legal opinions, briefs, and other court processes.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical legal advice on contentious matters.
• Develop litigation strategies and manage dispute resolution matters from inception to conclusion.
• Attend court proceedings, client meetings, and negotiations.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, external counsel, and other stakeholders where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and court procedures.
• Maintain accurate case files and provide regular updates on ongoing matters.

Requirements:

• LL.B and B.L. qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-call experience in dispute resolution/litigation.
• Excellent advocacy, drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian civil and commercial litigation procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience handling commercial disputes, debt recovery, employment, and corporate litigation.
• Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
• Ability to work collaboratively while demonstrating initiative and accountability.
