Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and diligent Associate Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified legal practitioner with a solid foundation in substantive law and a proven track record in a reputable firm environment.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Investigate relevant laws, regulations, and precedents to build strong arguments.
- Prepare contracts, agreements, pleadings, motions, and other legal correspondence.
- Handle client files, gather evidence, and coordinate with senior attorneys and paralegals.
- Interview clients, provide legal advice, and update them on case progress.
- Assist in preparing for hearings, depositions, and trials, potentially representing clients in court.
- Ensure all work adheres to legal standards and company policies.
- A minimum of a 2:1 Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognised university.
- A Barrister at Law (B.L.) certificate from the Nigerian Law School.
- Must have been called to the Nigerian Bar and possess a current, valid practising certificate.
- Must have completed the NYSC program and possess a valid discharge certificate.
- 3 to 4 years of active, post-call experience gained within a reputable law firm.
- Demonstrable experience in legal research, litigation support, contract drafting, and client management.
