Job summary
The Land Surveyor is responsible for conducting, managing, and supervising land, topographical, engineering, and construction surveys to support project planning and execution. The role involves collecting and analyzing survey data, establishing site controls, preparing survey reports and maps, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.

Responsibilities:
Survey Planning and Execution:
- Conduct land, topographical, route, engineering, and construction surveys.
- Establish survey controls, benchmarks, and reference points for project sites.
- Perform precise measurements using Total Stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, levels, drones, and other surveying instruments.
- Verify land boundaries and determine legal property limits using survey records and legal documentation.
- Carry out setting-out activities for buildings, roads, drainage systems, and other infrastructure projects.
Data Processing and Reporting:
- Collect, process, and analyze survey data for project planning and implementation.
- Prepare survey reports, maps, sketches, site plans, and technical documentation.
- Generate and update digital survey drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and related software.
- Maintain accurate records of survey data and field observations.
Project Support and Coordination:
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, contractors, and consultants to ensure project requirements are met.
- Provide technical survey support throughout project lifecycles.
- Conduct as-built surveys and prepare final survey documentation upon project completion.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all survey activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality in survey outputs.
- Implement safety procedures during field operations.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor junior surveyors and survey assistants.
- Coordinate field survey teams and allocate tasks effectively.
- Review survey outputs and ensure adherence to project requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Surveying and Geoinformatics, Geomatics, Land Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Professional registration with a recognized surveying body is an added advantage.
- Valid practicing license (where applicable).
