Job summary

We are seeking a results-driven and highly organized KYC Officer to carry out drivers’ verification and coordinate all physical inspections of our bus leasing business. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong understanding of compliance, document proofreading and verification, assessments, and in-depth inspections.

Responsibilities

KYC Assessment

Monthly, conduct KYC assessments to determine which of the following is required:

  • New KYC
  • Extensive KYC
  • Enhanced Monthly Inspection
  • Monthly Inspection
  • No Inspection


KYC Completion:

New KYC:

  • After the Office team has allocated a Coordinator to a Bus and driver and after the Initial KYC has been completed by the coordinator, conduct comprehensive checks on the information provided in the KYC documentation to verify the identities of drivers and guarantors, confirm the validity of evidence provided and evaluate their risk profile (in collaboration with the Office team).
  • Ensure that all KYC information is accurately documented and updated in the relevant systems.


Extensive KYC:

  • Work with the Office team to allocate a team member to carry out the Extensive KYC process following the KYC assessment process.
  • Conduct comprehensive checks on the information provided in the KYC documentation to verify the identities of drivers and guarantors, confirm the validity of evidence provided and evaluate their risk profile (in collaboration with the Office team).
  • Ensure that all KYC information is accurately documented and updated in the systems.


Enhanced Monthly Inspection & Monthly Inspection:

  • Print out and complete the Enhanced Monthly Inspection & Monthly Inspection forms for all team members MONTHLY.
  • Once KYC completed, ensure that all information is completely and accurately completed.
  • Document and update all relevant information in the relevant systems.
  • KYC On Potential Drivers:
  • Coordinate with other teams, Motor parks and previous drivers to identify potential and interested drivers.
  • Maintain a list of these drivers physically in the office and on the Google Drive.
  • Once the deposit has been paid, work with Office team to organise commencement of initial KYC process.
  • Conduct comprehensive checks using information provided in the KYC documentation to verify the identities of drivers and guarantors and evaluate their risk profile.
  • Ensure that all KYC information is accurately documented and updated in the relevant systems.


Offboarding:

  • Work with Office team to conclude on the risk assessment of the Driver based on the KYC information held on the driver.


Database Update, Reporting and Documentation:

  • Work with the Office team to ensure that all files are documented and stored in the office.
  • Ensure at all times that all relevant documents are scanned and stored in the Google Drive.
  • Ensure that all reports and databases are updated and up to date in the Google Drive.


Cross-Department Coordination:

  • Work closely with other teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new drivers and buses.
  • Provide support and advice on KYC-related matters to other teams.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to address any KYC issues promptly.



Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transport Management, Logistics, or a related field
  • Proven experience in fleet operations, logistics, or transport management (experience in a leasing company is a strong advantage)
  • Solid understanding of vehicle repossession procedures and legal compliance
  • Experience working with law enforcement and legal teams
  • Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations with discretion
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel when needed
  • Experience in the automotive or public transport industry
  • Knowledge of local transport regulations and commercial vehicle operations
