The Junior interior designer plays a crucial role in supporting the interior design team in various tasks related to design, project management, research, and client communication. Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Design Support: 

  • Assist in creating conceptual designs, mood boards and design presentations under the guidance of the principal designers.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions for design elements, colour schemes, materials and finishes.
  • Use CAD Software (such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, or Revit) to create floor plans, elevations and 3D models as needed.
  • Prepare design documentation, including specifications, schedules and material boards


Research and Development:

  • Conduct research on design trends, materials, products, and suppliers.
  • Source furniture, fixtures, and accessories that align with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Assist in maintaining a library of design resources, samples, and catalogues.
  • Coordinating with suppliers and vendors.
  • Stay updated with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to interior design.


Client Communication:

  • Collaborate with designers and project managers to understand client needs, preferences, and project goals.
  • Assist in preparing client presentations and participating in client meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, vendors, and contractors regarding design-related matters.


Project Coordination:

  • Support project managers in coordinating project activities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Assist in preparing project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely procurement and installation of materials.


On-Site Assistance:

  • Visiting project sites to ensure designs are being implemented correctly.
  • Addressing minor design adjustments during execution.


Requirements:

  • 1 year experience
  • Degree in a related field


Basic Computer Skills Good use of CAD Softwares Excellent Communication Skills Excellent Interpersonal Skills Ability to work with little or no supervision
