The Junior Event Coordinator (Decor Planner) will support the planning, coordination, and successful execution of corporate, social, experiential, promotional, and lifestyle events, with a strong focus on décor planning, event styling, branding, production, and on-site execution.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating the planning and execution of corporate, social, experiential, promotional, and lifestyle events from project initiation through post-event completion.
- Support the development of event plans, décor concepts, project schedules, production timelines, checklists, budgets, logistics plans, and other planning documentation.
- Assist with venue sourcing, venue inspections, site measurements, space planning, and venue preparation to ensure décor, branding, production, and logistical requirements are properly accommodated.
- Support the translation of approved décor and event concepts into practical execution plans covering styling, materials, structures, furniture, lighting, branding, signage, props, and other visual elements.
- Coordinate with decorators, fabricators, printers, signage teams, production personnel, caterers, photographers, logistics providers, suppliers, and other service partners to support seamless project delivery.
- Follow up with vendors and internal teams on assigned deliverables, production timelines, material requirements, installations, and outstanding project actions.
- Assist with sourcing and coordinating décor materials, event props, furniture, fabrics, floral elements, branding materials, production items, equipment, and other project requirements.
- Support client meetings, planning sessions, site walkthroughs, and project briefings by preparing relevant materials, documenting requirements, recording action points, and following up on assigned tasks.
- Assist in coordinating event logistics, including transportation, equipment rentals, material movement, vendor access, loading and unloading, setup schedules, branding materials, décor items, and event supplies.
- Provide hands-on support during event setup, décor installation, branding installation, event execution, troubleshooting, and post-event dismantling activities.
- Conduct quality checks on décor, branding, signage, fabrication, printing, installations, and other event deliverables to ensure they meet approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor the availability and condition of décor assets, props, event materials, equipment, branding items, and consumables required for each project.
- Assist in tracking procurement requirements, vendor quotations, project materials, expenses, and other resources to support cost-effective project delivery.
- Assist in preparing event proposals, quotations, budgets, project reports, post-event evaluations, checklists, and other project documentation.
- Maintain organised records of event projects, vendor databases, quotations, invoices, purchase requirements, client briefs, production documents, and project files.
- Conduct research on venues, décor suppliers, fabricators, printers, production partners, event trends, styling concepts, materials, and innovative event solutions to support project planning.
- Support the Event Manager in identifying potential logistical, décor, production, or execution challenges and escalate issues promptly for resolution.
- Assist in ensuring that event setups, décor installations, branding activities, and on-site operations comply with client requirements, organisational standards, venue regulations, and health and safety procedures.
- Support the team in ensuring that all project deliverables are completed within agreed timelines, approved budgets, and required quality standards.
- Assist with post-event inspections, dismantling, asset recovery, inventory checks, and proper storage or return of event materials and equipment.
- Capture relevant setup and execution details through photographs, checklists, reports, and other documentation for project records and post-event reviews.
- Contribute ideas for décor styling, event presentation, space utilisation, branding integration, and creative event experiences.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Event Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Tourism, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2–4 years' experience in event planning, event coordination, décor planning, project coordination, hospitality, production support, or a related role.
- Previous experience supporting the planning and execution of corporate, social, experiential, promotional, lifestyle, or branded events will be an added advantage.
- Experience coordinating vendors, logistics, décor projects, production activities, project documentation, and event operations is desirable.
- Experience within event management, branding, creative agencies, production, fabrication, hospitality, or related industries will be an added advantage.
Core Skills & Functional Competencies:
- Strong understanding of event planning, décor coordination, event logistics, and on-site event execution.
- Practical knowledge of décor styling, space planning, event setup, branded installations, signage, fabrication, and event production.
- Strong aesthetic sense with an eye for colour, styling, proportion, space utilisation, presentation, and brand integration.
- Ability to interpret basic event layouts, décor concepts, floor plans, branding specifications, and production requirements.
- Strong vendor coordination skills, with the ability to effectively work with decorators, fabricators, printers, suppliers, logistics providers, and production teams.
- Ability to coordinate event materials, décor items, props, branding materials, equipment, and other project resources.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage timelines, checklists, multiple tasks, and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, particularly for project tracking, documentation, budgeting, and reporting.
- Ability to use project management and digital productivity tools to track assignments, deliverables, vendors, and project progress.
- Basic understanding of event budgeting, procurement, quotation comparison, and resource management.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct quality checks on décor, branding, signage, fabrication, and event installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm and solution-focused during event setup and live execution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work professionally with clients, vendors, venues, and internal teams.
- Strong initiative, accountability, adaptability, and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and meet demanding project deadlines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and extended hours when required for event execution.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally for venue inspections, client meetings, production activities, installations, and event execution.
Remuneration: NGN 350,000 – 450,000 Monthly
