Security and Conflict Journalist

Responsibilities:

• Research, investigate, and report on security, conflict, crime, and defense-related issues
• Produce high-quality news reports, feature stories, and in-depth analyses
• Cover breaking news, emergencies, and crises with speed and accuracy
• Conduct interviews with security agencies, experts, affected individuals, and stakeholders
• Monitor developments in national security, insurgency, civil unrest, and public safety
• Analyze data, intelligence reports, and field information to provide context and insight
• Ensure all reporting adheres to ethical standards, safety protocols, and legal guidelines
• Collaborate with editors and multimedia teams to deliver impactful storytelling
• Utilize digital platforms and SEO strategies to enhance reach and engagement
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field
• Proven experience as a journalist or reporter.
• Strong understanding of security systems, conflict dynamics, and geopolitical issues
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
• Strong investigative, analytical, and research abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and in high-risk or sensitive environments
• Familiarity with digital publishing tools and content management systems (CMS)
• Knowledge of media law, ethics, and responsible reporting
