IT Officer
Job summary
We are seeking a proactive, technically skilled, and service-oriented IT Officer to manage and support the organization's information technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining computer systems, networks, hardware, software, and cybersecurity measures.

Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support to staff by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network, and system issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
- Set up user accounts, email accounts, and system access permissions.
- Respond promptly to IT support requests and maintain service tickets until resolution.
- Monitor and maintain the organization's Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), internet connectivity, and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems, software applications, and security patches.
- Monitor server performance, storage, and system availability where applicable.
- Perform regular system backups and assist with disaster recovery planning.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect company data and IT systems.
- Monitor antivirus software, firewalls, and endpoint security solutions.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, data protection standards, and information security best practices.
- Educate staff on cybersecurity awareness and safe technology usage.
- Maintain an inventory of IT hardware, software licenses, and technology assets.
- Coordinate equipment procurement, repairs, and warranty claims.
- Liaise with internet service providers, software vendors, and external IT service providers.
- Recommend technology upgrades and improvements to enhance business efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, network configurations, and support activities.
- Prepare periodic IT performance and incident reports.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IT operations.
- Support technology-related projects and digital transformation initiatives.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network administration.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and common business applications.
- Experience with network configuration, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and TCP/IP networking.
- Basic knowledge of server administration, cloud services, and virtualization is an advantage.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, antivirus solutions, and firewall management.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
