IT Officer
Job summary
The IT Officer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s information technology systems. This role ensures the smooth operation of computer hardware, software, networks, and data security to support daily business activities.

- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and networks
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Monitor IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security
- Manage user accounts, system access, and data backups
- Maintain and update software applications and operating systems
- Ensure data protection, cybersecurity measures, and compliance with IT policies
- Document IT procedures, system changes, and incident reports
- Coordinate with vendors for IT equipment procurement and maintenance
- Support staff training on basic IT usage and security practices
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven experience as an IT Officer, IT Support Officer, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and operating systems
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, data backup, and recovery processes
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are an added advantage
