IT Officer
Job summary
We are looking for an IT officer responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the organisation’s information technology systems to ensure efficient, secure, and uninterrupted operations, and also for providing technical support, maintaining hardware and software, ensuring data security, and supporting users across the organisation.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, printers, and network devices.
- Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN, internet connectivity, and office IT infrastructure.
- Ensure regular system updates, backups, and patches are performed.
- Provide first-line technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot system errors and resolve IT-related problems promptly.
- Set up user accounts, emails, and access rights for staff.
- Implement and monitor IT security measures (antivirus, firewalls, access controls).
- Ensure data backups, recovery procedures, and basic cybersecurity practices are in place.
- Enforce IT policies on data usage, password management, and system access.
- Install, manage, and update business software and applications.
- Support organization-wide systems (e.g. accounting software, HR systems, ERP).
- Liaise with vendors and service providers for IT-related services.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and system documentation.
- Prepare basic reports on system performance, incidents, and improvements.
- Recommend upgrades and improvements to IT systems.
- Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and relevant data protection regulations.
- Support audits and assurance reviews related to IT systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, servers, printers, and network devices.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN management, internet connectivity, and office IT infrastructure.
- Ability to perform regular system updates, backups, and patches.
- Experience providing first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
