Investment Officer
Job summary
The Investment Officer is responsible for conducting investment research, analyzing financial markets, identifying investment opportunities, and supporting the management of client portfolios. The role requires sound knowledge of capital market operations, investment products and portfolio management.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Conduct fundamental and technical analysis of equities, fixed income securities, mutual funds, and other investment instruments.
- Prepare investment reports, market commentaries, and recommendations for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Assist in the construction, monitoring, and rebalancing of investment portfolios in line with clients' investment objectives and risk appetite.
- Monitor portfolio performance and recommend adjustments to optimize returns.
- Prepare investment proposals and portfolio performance reports.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through professional advisory services.
- Track daily market activities across the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), fixed income market, and other investment markets.
- Monitor corporate actions, earnings releases, economic data, and market news.
- Ensure adherence to SEC regulations, NGX rules, and internal investment policies.
- Support Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and other regulatory compliance processes where applicable.
- Prepare periodic investment performance reports.
- Maintain accurate investment records and documentation.
- Carry out other duties assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an HND in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Banking & Finance, or any related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in investment management, stockbroking, asset management, wealth management, or other capital market-related institutions.
- Candidate must be a member of at least one recognized professional body such as (ACCA), (CIS), (CISI), (CFA), (ICAN), or (CIBN).
- Strong knowledge of capital market operations and investment products.
- Conversant with Portfolio management and asset allocation.
- Knowledgeable about equity and fixed income valuation.
- Investment research and market analysis.
- Risk assessment and investment performance measurement.
- Sound understanding of SEC and NGX regulatory requirements.
