Job Summary

Our client is looking for a professional to manage its investments, and portfolio management of its investee companies. Over the past 3 years the company has transformed from a corporate, to investment, holding company. Our portfolio of assets comprises minority interests in a microfinance bank, general insurance company, refinance boutique, and health management organization. We are strengthening our core executive team to further enhance our asset management competence and grow the company.

  • Minimum Qualification: Degree
  • Experience Level: Senior level
  • Experience Length: 5 years

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Review of quarterly financial reports of investee companies to ensure that they are achieving their objectives, such as generating income and growing assets.
  • Management of third-party funds under management.
  • Reconciliation of fund portfolios.
  • Preparation of quarterly investment reports.
  • Preparation of budgets for the company.
  • Management of the company’s liquidity position.
  • Reviewing potential investee companies for investment.
  • Overseeing internal audit, and back-up accounts administration.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Analytical discipline (e.g. Economics, Accounting, law, Engineering or Science).
  • Professional qualification e.g. CFA, ICAN


Knowledge and experience:

a) Essential:

  • At least 5 years working experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively/flexibly as part of a team to achieve measurable results.
  • Strong organization skills to manage multiple projects to competing deadline.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong operational knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

b) Desirable

  • Experience of working in finance (fund management, investment banking, or corporate financial); consultancy or another commercial organization.
  • Knowledge or experience of equity financing for early stage/high growth companies.
  • Knowledge and experience of performing due diligence projects.
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Understanding of financial reporting and accounts.

  • Re-calibrates and reallocates workload as priorities change.
  • Takes timely decisions, even with partial information or when there is disagreement.

  • Alternative investments (private equity, real estate and / or hedge funds) experience)
