Idia Ego is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and driven Investment Associate to support investment execution, financial analysis, due diligence, and portfolio evaluation activities. This role is ideal for someone with strong financial and analytical capabilities who is looking to gain hands-on exposure.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing & Origination:

  • Researching emerging industry trends and identifying new investment opportunities.
  • Networking to build a pipeline of potential investments.Assisting senior team members in vetting prospective deals.


Analysis & Due Diligence:

  • Building, updating, and maintaining rigorous financial models for valuation and return analysis.
  • Reviewing historical financial statements to evaluate corporate performance and risks.
  • Conducting comprehensive commercial, financial, and technical due diligence on prospective assets.


Deal Execution & Structuring:

  • Drafting detailed investment memoranda and presentations for senior management and investment committees.
  • Supporting senior investment managers with legal documentation, term sheets, and deal-closing activities.
  • Assisting with the negotiation of transaction structures and conditions precedent.


Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Tracking the operational and financial performance of existing portfolio companies.
  • Gathering impact and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data to report to stakeholders.
  • Reviewing management accounts and assisting with board meeting preparation


Requirements:

  • 3–7 years of experience in: Investment Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Transaction Advisory, Corporate Finance, Financial Advisory, and Strategy or FP&A
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to synthesise complex information clearly
  • Experience evaluating consumer businesses is a plus
  • Experience working in African markets is a plus
