We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory / Procurement Officer to oversee inventory management and procurement activities within the organization.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimal stock quantities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods and materials
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movement reports
  • Conduct regular stock counts, audits, and reconciliations
  • Monitor product expiration dates and implement stock rotation procedures where applicable
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and damages
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and organization of inventory items
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors
  • Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and procurement documentation
  • Obtain quotations and conduct price comparisons to ensure cost-effective purchasing
  • Coordinate the timely procurement and delivery of goods and services
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers
  • Track orders and ensure deliveries meet quality and timeline requirements
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures
  • Prepare inventory and procurement reports for management review
  • Maintain proper documentation of procurement transactions and supplier records
  • Support budgeting and cost-control initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, inventory controls, and audit requirements


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Procurement or a related field
  • Proven years of experience in inventory management, procurement, supply chain, or warehouse operations
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control and procurement processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Experience with inventory management systems, ERP software, or procurement platforms is an advantage
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Close attention to detail and accuracy
