Internal Auditor

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the annual internal audit plan in line with CBN and SEC regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk-based audits across operational, financial, and compliance areas.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and governance frameworks.
• Review financial statements, reconciliations, and accounting processes for accuracy and reliability.
• Perform audits of loan disbursements, investment operations, and fund management activities.
• Identify risks, control gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Provide practical recommendations to enhance compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Prepare clear and concise audit reports for management and the Audit Committee.
• Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Support external auditors and regulators during inspections or examinations.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, IFRS, CBN prudential guidelines, and SEC investment regulations.
• Maintain proper audit documentation and working papers in line with professional standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA (mandatory).
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in internal audit, internal control, or compliance within a financial institution.
• Strong understanding of CBN and SEC regulatory frameworks and risk management principles.
