Job summary
Homik Engineering Limited is seeking a highly competent Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in engineering design across multiple project phases within the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering mechanical engineering design activities for brownfield and greenfield projects.

Responsibilities:
Engineering Design & Analysis:
- Execute mechanical engineering design activities for onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities.
- Develop and review: Mechanical datasheets, Equipment specifications, Technical requisitions, Mechanical calculations, Design reports, Material selection studies
- Perform design and sizing for: Pressure vessels, Heat exchangers, Pumps, Compressors, Storage tanks, Piping and utility systems
- Support equipment layout development and plot plan reviews.
- Participate in design reviews, including: HAZID, HAZOP, Constructability reviews, Model reviews, SIL reviews, where applicable
Project Phase Involvement:
- Support engineering activities across: Conceptual Design, FEED, Detailed Engineering Design (DED), Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Start-up
- Provide technical clarification support during procurement and vendor engagement.
- Review vendor drawings and documents for compliance with project requirements.
Coordination & Interface Management:
- Interface effectively with: Process Engineers, Piping Engineers, Structural Engineers, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers, and Project Management teams
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and fabrication teams where required.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure designs comply with: ASME, API, ISO, NORSOK, Client specifications, Company procedures
- Maintain engineering quality and document control standards.
- Ensure deliverables are issued within approved schedules and budgets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- COREN registration or NSE membership is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering design within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience in engineering consulting or EPC environments.
- Experience in both brownfield and greenfield projects is preferred.
- Strong understanding of: Static and rotating equipment design, Piping systems and layouts, Oil & gas production facilities, Engineering calculations and equipment sizing
- Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards.
- Ability to interpret PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, and vendor documentation.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software/tools such as: AutoCAD, PDMS / E3D, Caesar II (added advantage), PV Elite (added advantage), HTRI (added advantage), Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and technical reporting ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Team-oriented with strong coordination capabilities.
