Job summary
We are seeking a talented Fashion Design Assistant to support our design team from concept to finished garment. The ideal candidate must have strong fashion illustration skills. The role entails design development, research, client consultations and fashion illustration, with two in-studio workdays per week.

Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing fashion concepts, sketches, and design ideas
- Produce clear and well-presented fashion illustrations and technical sketches
- Stay updated on relevant fashion trends and translate them into commercially relevant design ideas
- Research and organise design references, mood boards and visual concepts for the Creative Director on behalf of clients and ready-to-wear
- Assist with fabric, trim and material selection for upcoming designs
- Attend client consultation meetings, take detailed notes and present relevant design ideas and references
- Research relevant fashion trends, techniques, and industry developments that can contribute to the company’s creative direction
- Prepare design presentations, references, and other materials and internal design development
- Support the Creative Director and design team with other creative and design-related tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Proven ability in fashion illustrations and fashion sketching
- Good understanding of garment construction, silhouette, fabrics and finishing
- Strong sense of style, proportion, colours and detail
- Ability to communicate designs clearly, both visually and verbally
- Previous experience working in a fashion studio or atelier is an advantage
