Responsibilities:
- Install heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. This includes interpreting blueprints and installing components like compressors, evaporators, condensing units, and ducts.
- Inspects and maintains HVAC systems, cleans ducts and filters, checks for leaks, and refills refrigerants.
- Diagnose issues, replace or repair defective parts, and perform. emergency repairs while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Identify problems quickly in HVAC systems, which involve troubleshooting and analyzing various types of equipment.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs: job status, duration, and parts ordered for repair.
- Serves as direct contact for clients and provides guidance on system use and maintenance.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to HVAC equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to explain technical issues.
- NBTE in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning from a reputable technical college is desirable with other relevant certifications such as trade tests 1, 2 & 3 in RAC mechanics.
- ND/HND will be an added advantage.
